PGI Scheme...

"PDO and PGI designations are European Union indicators of quality and authenticity in terms of regional origin or traditional production. The wines that qualify have met certain requirements for their technical analysis and have passed an organoleptic assessment (a formal tasting)".

The PGI scheme aims to protect the authenticity and value of traditional foods and drinks. It is an important indicator of Wales being an excellent source of delicious and high-quality food and drinks, rooted in traditional skills, history, top quality produce and practice.

From the 2018 vintage comes a superlative sparkling white wine 'Silver Lining' made from our Solaris grapes. This wine has spent an extra year in the bottle, using the 'méthode traditionnelle' and was released in November 2020.

We are very pleased that 'Silver Lining' has been given PGI status.

'Silver Lining' has been judged to have achieved the exacting standards required to be given this accolade and we are entitled to describe 'Silver Lining' as " Quality Sparkling Welsh Wine ".
